"This page intentionally left blank" is a common sentence at the start of books/documents. I know it is correct, but why is it not expressed as "This page has been initially left blank"? Is there a term to describe this phenomenon in English grammar? A useful link for further study will be appreciated. I have already read this relevant Q&A.

Mar 30, 2021 I could find nothing about this in the InDesign forum, only on the Framemaker Forum. There is a tradition to have "This page intentionally left blank" on blank pages. I think this is a historical artifact of the days when we photocopied many documents, rather than finding the PDF online and printing again. It may be a bad idea.
